The buzz of bringing together ideas through the beauty of a typeface. This is what took me from Suffolk to Cardiff to study Graphic Design. This complete change not only increased my skillset but also challenged me to expand my creative and personal boundaries. My style is a combination of digital and hand rendered when creating editorial and print work — still my first love.  I am passionate about using the power of design to bring people together, I love creating work with peoples health and wellbeing at its heart.

Rehabilitation is

Design for Real Life
Live Client Brief

The focus for this project was rehabilitation and staying well. Cardiff and The Vale University Health board gave us the task of communicating their new rehabilitation strategy to the general public and encourage them to use their initiative and do their best to help.

I chose to create this leaflet shaped as a house to teach people about the home first element. The house unfolds to reveal the purpose of the initiative, how you can get involved and why you should.

Love of Craft

Final Major Project
Editorial Design

My love for hand rendered work has continued to grow since starting university so it was only right that my final major project celebrated creativity in the world of craft. “Love of Craft” brings together a collection of crafts people explaining their passion for what they do. I have developed this editorial with the intension of modernising the image of craft and to demonstrate it really is for anyone to get involved with.

In order to do that I put the emphasis on intriguing illustrations and use of bright colour to encourage accessibility. I have also included content that demonstrates not only the variety of crafts but also represented the range of age groups and gender to show how inclusive it can be.

Undertaking this project has given me the opportunity to talk to many new creative people and learn about their approach to their field. This has encouraged me to be more experimental and develop my own approach to design.
